Note on genre definition from Agent, Laurie McLean:
What used to be called urban fantasy is now being called contemporary fantasy or modern fantasy. Urban was a misnomer to begin with (some of them occurred outside cities) and Urban Fantasy was kicked off the bookshelves by epic fantasy when Game of Thrones became super popular. No editor would even look at an urban fantasy. So agents are now calling them contemporary fantasy novels.
